The ``artwork/flower pot'' in the lobby uses cement as the main material. While pottery/clay is generally considered to be the main raw material for flowerpots, We asked Robbie why he chose cement.
・Reason 1: “Feeling of weight” I want to plant a slightly larger plant in a smaller pot... That imbalance is really cool, isn't it? But I end up falling over easily. In times like these, the weight of cement comes in handy.
・Reason 2 “Water retention” Another disadvantage is the poor breathability of cement. On the contrary, it is convenient for mini-sized pots. For mini pots that tend to dry out, measures against dryness are very important.
・Reason 3: “Design” This material goes well with green, and what's most important is its looks. It blends well into the space as an interior design. If you want to fully enjoy the greenery, go to the forest. If you want to enjoy it as interior decoration, it has to be cool.

【商品特徴】
ネオジャポニズムを提唱するロビー・ハンソン。その考えは素材選びにも反映されており、主要素材は現代建築を想起させる「セメント」が使用されています。よって強度は、植木鉢としては全くと言っていい程問題ありませんが、一般的な陶器と同様、落下や衝撃によって欠けや破損の恐れがあります。特にロビーの作品はシャープなデザインが多い為、鋭角な部分は欠ける場合があります。「植物の成長と共に、鉢のエイジングも楽しむ。」という、ロビーのコンセプトをご理解頂きつつ、お取り扱いには充分ご注意ください。

日本古来のインクである「墨」でセメントを染め上げて作る、独特な手法のロビーの作品は、欠ける事により素地の色が露出する事があります。しかし、ロビーはこう言います。「それも含めて僕の作品を楽しんで欲しい」と。もし欠けてしまったら、4B程度の鉛筆で欠けた部分を軽く擦り、指で馴染ませて完了。作品にビンテージ感が増し、より愛着も増す事でしょう。つるっとした一般的な陶器とは違い、環境次第では苔が活着したり、長年の風雨でシミや色ムラができる事もあるでしょう。植物の成長と共に、作品（植木鉢）の成長も是非楽しんでください。

ロビーの「作品/植木鉢」は主原料にセメントが使用されています。一般的に植木鉢の原料は「陶器/粘土」が主流とされるなか、何故 ロビーはセメントを選んだのか、その理由を本人に聞いてみました。
・理由1「重量感」小さい鉢に少し大きめの植物を植えたい… そのアンバランスさって、とってもクールだよね。でも、すぐ転倒しちゃうんだ。そんな時このセメントの重量感が役に立つんだよね。
・理由2「保水性」デメリットでもあるセメントの通気性の悪さ。ミニサイズの鉢にとっては逆に好都合なんだよ。乾きがちなミニポットにとって、乾燥対策はとても重要だからね。
・理由3「意匠」この素材はグリーンとの相性もいいし、後は何と言ってもそのルックス。インテリアとしても空間に良く馴染むんだ。グリーンを存分に楽しみたいなら森へ行けばいい。インテリアとして楽しむならやっぱりクールじゃないとね。
